Developed by MiHoYo, Genshin Impact may appear to be just a Breath of the Wild clone at a glance. However, it’s actually a pretty unique exploration RPG on its own, and it also comes with a rather in-depth combat system that’s easy to pick up but hard to master. While you’re exploring the vast lands of Liyue or Dragonspine, you’ll inevitably come across tough enemies. As such, you’ll probably want to know how you can heal up in the game.
How to Heal in Genshin Impact
Healing isn’t quite as straightforward as you might think in Genshin Impact. Yes, you consume food to restore your health, but you also have to be mindful of how much food you’re consuming as your characters can get full after just four or five meals.
Below, we’ve listed all the ways you can heal up in the game.
Using Food to Heal
This is your primary method of healing, but as mentioned previously, you need to be careful with how much food you’re consuming. By gathering ingredients found in the open-world or purchasing them from stores in Mondstadt or Liyue, you can go to any cooking pot in the world and start cooking up meals.
New recipes are obtained through advancing the story, completing side quests, and purchasing them from the general goods stores. At the cooking pot, you’ll be able to cook meals that restore health.
When in battle, simply open up your inventory, select the food item you want to use, then select the character you want to use it on. But of course, if you take too much damage in a short period of time, you won’t be able to keep feeding them and they’ll eventually die.
The good news is that you can use food items to instantly revive them and reset their hunger meter, but do note that revival items have a two-minute cooldown between uses.
Character Abilities
Fortunately, there are other more viable methods of healing in Genshin Impact, especially if you want to use up your hunger meter on meals that boost attack, defense, stamina restoration, or crit chances instead.
Some characters come with healing abilities. For instance, Bennett and Barbara are capable of providing full party heals with their abilities, and other support characters like Jean can restore health based on her damage dealt once you’ve leveled up her constellation and talents.
These characters are obtained through the gacha aspect of the game, however, which means you do need a certain amount of luck to obtain a dedicated healer in your party.
Statues of the Seven
Finally, you can restore your party’s health simply by teleporting to any Statue of the Seven in the open-world. By standing next to the statue, it’ll restore the HP bars of all your party members, which is a great way to heal up in between combat encounters.
There is a limit to how much you can use the Statues for healing, so make sure to always have some food on you.
And now that you know how to heal your characters in Genshin Impact, that should give you a better shot at surviving in the open-world. Be sure to check our guide wiki for more tips and information on the game.
