PS Plus Free Games Predictions

games of the generation

As we move forward into November 2020, there is one major update we have to take into consideration before any PS Plus free games predictions.

November 2020 marks the start of a major update to PS Plus called the PlayStation Plus Collection.

In order to coincide with the launch of the PS5 on Nov. 12, Sony is offering 18 games free to play right away for PS Plus subscribers with this new collection. This includes:

  • God of War
  • The Last of Us: Remastered
  • Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End
  • Battlefield 1
  • Monster Hunter World
  • Fallout 4
  • Final Fantasy XV
  • The Last Guardian
  • Ratchet and Clank
  • Infamous: Second Son
  • Days Gone
  • Bloodborne
  • Detroit: Become Human
  • Batman Arkham Knight
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Persona 5
  • Until Dawn
  • Resident Evil: Biohazard

This entire collection will be free on PS Plus starting Nov 12, so logically don’t expect these games or any others like them on the normal PS Plus line-up.

In fact, there’s a chance a normal PS Plus announcement might not occur due to the release of this collection. However, if there were to be two additional, surprise inclusions, we have some predictions as to what those two games might be.

Usually a larger, more AAA-typed title headlines the list and we predict a game that already has 4K capabilities is more logical since it likely will be offered for free on both PS4 and PS5 consoles next months.

Therefore, we predict Horizon Zero Dawn will be a free game inclusion next month, as it has 4K and HDR functionality on the PS4 Pro which would transfer over to the PS5 easily. It’s arguably one of the best looking 4K games on the PS4 Pro, and this will only improve transferring over to the new console.

It’s also very suspicious that Horizon Zero Dawn is not included on the PS Plus Collection list, especially considering how diligently Sony has been showing off Horizon Forbidden West on center-stage in all of its recent game and tech updates.

Horizon Zero Dawn launched back in 2017, and often goes on sale sometimes for as low as $9.99.

We have predicted Horizon Zero Dawn as a PS Plus game in the past, but this truly seems like the most apropos moment for Sony to include it for free temporarily to show off its stunning visuals on PS5 as Forbidden West ramps up for release next year.
