This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

With Halloween just around the corner, now is the perfect time to play some spooky horror games, and Phasmophobia is definitely a good one to check out if you’re up for some ghost hunting action. Developed by Kinetic Games, this is still in early access development, but you can already explore various haunted locales with up to three other people and identify the ghost types you’re dealing with. If you’re wondering whether you can play solo or with just two players in Phasmophobia, here’s what you need to know.

Playing Solo Or With 2 Players in Phasmophobia

To get straight to the point, yes, you can absolutely play solo and with just one other friend in Phasmophobia if that’s how you want to tackle the game. To do this, just check the whiteboard in the lobby, then create a private session.

From here, you can invite one other friend to join you by giving them the session code in the top right corner of the screen. Alternatively, you can also just ready up on your own and start the game as a solo player. When choosing the maps and levels, you can also check the recommended team size and pick the ones recommended for solo or duo players.

Most of the solo and duo maps can be played with just one player as well, so you don’t have to worry about soft-locking yourself in a game.

Of course, some of the maps and ghost types just work better if you have a full team of four, as some of them are more likely to show up or give paranormal signs when you’re in a large group. However, you’ll still be able to enjoy most of what the game has to offer in the early access build with an undersized party.

That’s all you need to know about whether you can play solo or with just two players in Phasmophobia. Be sure to search for Twinfinite for more tips and information on the game.
