As the fall rolls around after a crazy 2020, it’s time for the new NBA 2K game. While there are new features to jump into, as there always are, you’ll want to get used to the basic gameplay elements before taking it to the online competition. So that you’re scoring easily, or at least setting up opportunities, here’s everything you need to know about how to call for a screen in NBA 2K21.
Calling for a screen is something you’ll want to learn as soon as you can because it opens up spaces for you to drive in at the basket without the pressure of a defensive player, or maybe frees up a teammate for an easy pass and chance of scoring.
How to Call for a Screen in NBA 2K21
Thankfully, calling for a screen is pretty easy in NBA 2K21 and is the same as it has been in previous years. All you need to do is hold L1 if you’re on PS4 (LB on Xbox One and L on Switch) and a teammate will move to the area of the court in front of the player who has the ball and you’re in control of.
Just pressing it will see the player move briefly, so keep it held down for as long as you want the teammate to remain there as a screen. You can transition into other moves from here though.
You can press R1 if you’re on PS4 (RB/R on Xbox One/Switch) to switch between a roll and fade move, which opens up space in slightly different parts of the court.
Alternatively, you can press the left thumbstick in to change the angle of the screen. This blocks the defenders in different places to open up other running and passing lanes to get easy baskets.
That’s everything you need to know about how to call for a screen in NBA 2K21. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
