This article is over 4 years old and may contain outdated information

Should You Tell Astrid About Giovanni in Spiritfarer? Answered

As it stands, there’s no exceptional advantages or downsides to telling Astrid about Giovanni’s cheating in Spiritfarer.

Granted, there are slight differences in certain gameplay aspects based on your choice. If you do tell her, then the two no longer live together and Giovanni will begin sleeping on a couch near Astrid’s house or, after you’ve built it upon his request for a place to sleep, in the Lounge.

Giovanni will likewise have dialogue snippets where he responds to you telling Astrid about his cheating, and will slowly come to terms with how he was at fault.

On the other hand, if you don’t tell her about his cheating, then Giovanni will thank you for your discretion and provide you with more insight into why he did it. The two will still stop living together though, with Astrid claiming that he’s beginning to annoy her.

Either way, neither of your choices will affect whether one or the other stays on your ship. Both will remain members of your crew until you’ve completed their questlines, and can still be taken to the Everdoor.

The only exceptional difference between the choices is the Trophy or Achievement you earn. Telling Astrid will net you the Loose Lips Trophy and Achievement, while choosing not to tell her gets you the Sealed Lips Trophy and Achievement.

That’s all there is to it really. It’s not as weighty of a choice as the game could have provided, but at the very least it forces you to decide which character you want to support in an unfortunate matter.

Hopefully this cleared up whether you should tell Astrid about Giovanni in Spiritfarer. For more on the game, check out some of our other guides on hot topics like how to shear sheep and how to upgrade the Windmill.
