Eiyuden Chronicle by Suikoden Creators Gets New Trailer Ahead of Last 48-Hour Kickstarter Rush

Today Rabbit & Bear Studios launched a new trailer of its upcoming JRPG Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes.

The trailer provides a look at gameplay and recaps what was achieved so far with the Kickstarter campaign, including a metric ton of stretch goals between new characters, features, and minigames.

Incidentally, the game’s Kickstarter campaign has now passed $3.8 million, which means that the Theatre system announced yesterday has been unlocked. 

More goals have been teased for the last 48-hour rush including one titled “The Depths” at $4.25 million and several with no indicated amount including “On My Own Time,” “A New Style” (DLC), “A Good Offense, ” “State of Mind” (DLC) and a “Final Goal.”

We also get a message from Suikoden creator Yoshitaka Murayama.

“When we first set off down this path it was a new challenge for us. We knew so little about Kickstarter and of course in the back of our minds we had the anxiety of wondering if gamers really wanted something like this?

A Kickstarter campaign isn’t about selling a ton of units—It’s about having a plan and concept that is validated and supported by the fans. It’s a call for help to the most passionate supporters to fight alongside as we develop this new thing called Eiyuden Chronicles.

Many of our supporters have even said so, “It feels like we are a part of making this game together”. And yeah, I feel that statement is absolutely true.

So we have character designs that are chosen by fans, group songs, and a wide variety of connective content. Being able to work with such passionate fans over the next 2 plus years to develop the game is going to be so much fun.

There isn’t a lot of time left in the campaign, but we truly hope you’ll be a hero and take this journey with us. Not only as fans, but as friends!”

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes’ campaign was launched on Kickstarter almost a month ago, reaching its basic founding goal in two hours and unlocking console platforms shortly after.

As usual, the success of this campaign shouldn’t be too surprising considering that it brings back together Suikoden creators Yoshitaka Murayama and Junko Kawano, and appears to be a spiritual successor of the popular franchise.

Eiyuden Chronicle: Hundred Heroes will come to PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and a possible next-gen Nintendo platform in fall 2022.
