The Game Awards 2019 has finally come to a close and boy were there tons of crazy reveals and announcements during the three-hour-long show. In case you missed out on the live event and are looking for a recap on everything that was announced, here’s what you need to know.
Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3 Expansion
The Nintendo Switch exclusive, Marvel Ultimate Alliance 3, will be getting an X-Men-themed expansion on Dec. 23 titled ‘Rise of the Phoenix.’ The expansion will feature a danger room mode, a gauntlet mode, and will allow you to compete against friends and foes. Characters include Cable, Iceman, Gamble, and Phoenix.
Maneater
Maneater is a PC game that has you playing as a shark and devouring human beings as you evolve into a larger and more terrifying shark. It’s coming to consoles on May 22, 2020.
Humankind
Scheduled for a release in 2020 for PC, Humankind is a historical strategy game akin to Civilization that lets you re-write the narrative of history. Amplitude Studios showed off a new gameplay trailer during The Game Awards preshow that went into detail on the customization system.
No More Heroes 3, the Nintendo Switch exclusive action title from Grasshopper and Suda51, is set to launch sometime in 2020 and we got a new trailer that doesn’t show off gameplay, but sets the tone for the wacky nature of the series.

Final Fantasy VII Remake
This gorgeous new trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake gives us a deeper look at Cloud Strife.
Xbox Series X
In a very surprising way, Microsoft unveiled the first look at the company’s new console that will be launching in Holiday 2020. Not much info was revealed but the codename Scarlett is no more –say hello to the Xbox Series X.
Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II
Microsoft showed Ninja Theory’s sequel to the action-adventure title, Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be coming to the Xbox Series X but no release date was shown as the title is in the early stages of development.
Control Expeditions
Godfall
Godfall is a brand new fantasy title described as a “looter slasher” and reinvents the third-person action genre. It will have single-player and multiplayer components and will be launching in Holiday 2020 for the PS5 and on the Epic Games Store.
It’s being developed by Counterplay Games & published by Gearbox Publishing.
