It’s never good news to hear about any gaming studios closing down.  That’s people’s jobs and work at stake there, guys.  Which is why it’s sad to hear that Toki Tori developer Two Tribes announced its closure today.
The company cites the delay and lack of sales of the recent Toki Tori 2 as delivering the worst blows to the team financially, which is a shame considering the game was making some decent strides at unifying the Wii U and Steam.
Even though the company may be gone officially, the two founders, Martijn Reuvers and Collin van Ginkel, will maintain the company’s name as a publisher to continue distribution of their library of games. Â There are also plans to start up a new small company under that umbrella to get back into developing games.
Godspeed, Two Tribes. Â Godspeed.
