The Batman event has dropped in Fortnite, bringing Gotham City to the map, a bunch of cosmetics to the Item Shop, and challenges for players to get free skins and other goodies. If you’re looking to complete all of these ‘Welcome to Gotham City’ challenges, players will need to defuse three of these Joker Gas Canisters. Here’s where you can Fortnite Joker Gas Canister locations.

Where to Defuse Joker Gas Canisters in Fortnite

• Pressure Plant
• Gotham City
• Salty Springs
• Fatal Fields
• Lucky Landing

First off, it’s worth pointing out from the very beginning that these Joker Gas Canisters work a little differently to most of the collectibles players have to scavenge across the map for other challenges.

For starters, these do actually explode if you’re not fast enough. They don’t have any kind of gameplay effect when they do, with a little laugh being the only thing that really happens when it finally detonates.

It will disappear after detonating, though, so if you can’t find a canister somewhere, chances are it’s exploded.

Either that, or someone else has already claimed it. As we’ve seen with some (but not all) of the challenge collectibles in the past, if another player manages to seek out one of the Fortnite Joker Gas Canisters before you, you’re going to be fresh out of luck.

To make things even trickier, these canisters don’t always spawn in the exact same locations, but they will alternate between the same few.

We’ve had luck finding some at Lucky Landing, Salty Springs, and Gotham City in particular, but whereabouts you’ll find them in these named locations is harder to pinpoint.

We’d advise heading to any of the named locations circled on the map above for your best bet of finding three Fortnite Joker Gas Canisters to defuse.

How to Defuse

Once you’ve found one of these canisters, all you need to do is walk on over to them and press X on Xbox One, Square on PS4, Y on Switch, and E on PC. Hold it down and after the circle fills around the on-screen prompt, you’ll have successfully defused it.
