If you’re a lover of turn-based strategy games, you may want to pay attention to this one. The Banner Saga is a highly successful Kickstarter funded project, raising 700% of their original goal. The game is currently in development and is set for a PC/Mac release on January 14, 2014. It features the detailed mechanics that you would expect from a strategy game, but also has a deep narrative focused on Viking culture with beautifully animated scenes and voiced dialogue.
Stoic, the Austin-based developer has released a new video detailing the combat mechanics, decisions to be made, and resources you’ll need to manage during gameplay. You’ll first notice that this is one good lookin’ game with nice animations, but the whole decision and combat system seems fairly complex too. Check it out the new video below:
