Destiny 2’s Season of Opulence is finally here, adding a host of new options and features onto the game. The event is all about treasure, of course, and to help you get all the treasure you can you’ll get the Chalice of Opulence. You’ll need to earn a new currency called Imperials if you want to maximize your profit, so here’s how to get Imperials in Destiny 2.
How to Get Imperials in Destiny 2
Imperials are the brand new currency introduced to Destiny 2 with the Season of Opulence, and luckily there are a few different ways to earn them.
In order to start actually farming Imperials, you must first progress far enough into the quest line to have completed the first treasure map located at the Well of Flame. Once you’ve done that you’ll return to Werner 99-40 and have access to his weekly bounties which reward purses of Imperials. In addition, according to Bungie, these are the main ways of earning Imperials.
- Completing weekly bounties from Werner 99-40 and Benedict 99-40
- Completing Menagerie Triumphs
- Obtained from opening chests on the Imperial Barge on Nessus, which cost 5,000 Glimmer each
- Using special consumables that allow for Imperial acquisition
- Chalice upgrades that allow you to earn Imperials through playlist activities
For that last one, you actually need Imperials to upgrade your Chalice, so you might want to invest in upgrades that’ll help you earn more first.
By using Imperials you’ll be able to upgrade you Chalice in a variety of ways, including unlocking additional rune slots to allow for more customization, upgrading it so you can earn more runes or more rune variety, and upgrading it to allow for more and better rewards from the Menagerie.
Finally, for a one time boost of imperials, you can cash in Menagerie triumphs in the Destinations section of your Triumphs book. Most of the triumphs you’ll complete there will reward you with at least 500 or more.
As you can see, this new resource is your keys to the kingdom for the Season of Opulence, so you best get to earning them. If you put the work in, you’ll be able to fine tune new guns to your liking which is a huge perk to have.
