Destiny 2: How to Get Chalice of Opulence & Start the Quest Line

Much of the gameplay in Destiny 2‘s latest season, Season of Opulence (S7), is centered around a new pursuit container item known as the Chalice of Opulence. It is through this item that you’ll obtain many of the game’s new weapons and armor, and progress through the Annual Pass content’s story. Here is how to get the Chalice of Opulence in Destiny 2.

How to Start Season of Opulence Quest Line

In order to get started on getting the Chalice of Opulence, you’ll need to first begin the Season of Opulence content. This is done by visiting the Tower when you first log in.

Head on over to Benedict 99-44’s new location in the Annex. You can easily find him by tagging him on your map by pressing X on PS4 or A on Xbox One and the game will track his location for you.

Talk to him, and then take a short walk back upstairs to Ikora. She will give you a few 690 blue armor to help jump-start the process of getting you to an appropriate power level for new content such as the Menagerie.

From there, you’re off to Nessus.

Getting the Chalice of Opulence

Use the director to take yourself to Nessus preferably dropping right into the Watcher’s Grave location to save you time. Once again, you should tag your quest marker at this location to help find your destination: a barge sent by Calus.

You can’t miss the ship once you get to the correct location, it’s quite big and just hovers around without leaving. Use the stone pillars nearby to access the hatch and enter the ship. The interior is not that spacious and you’ll quickly find the NPC you’re looking for another shadow frame by the name of Werner 99-40.

Speak to him, and after a speech from Calus you will have the Chalice of Opulence in your possession.

You’ll need to work on it a bit more before you start cranking out new items, but your first step is to defeat Cabal on Nessus to collect the lost fragments of the Chalice. Once you’ve done that you’ll repair your Chalice of Opulence from cracked, into something actually useful.

That’s all you need to know for how to get the Chalice of Opulence in Destiny 2. Good luck serving as a Shadow for Calus.
