How to Kill the Bear in Metro Exodus
While you come across bandits and smaller mutants in most of the levels in Metro Exodus, there are some larger enemies that appear occasionally, one of which is a huge mutant bear. Here’s everything you need to know about how to kill the bear in Metro Exodus.
First Bear Fight in Metro Exodus
The first time you come across the bear in Metro Exodus, not just in a cutscene, you won’t be able to kill him. You’ll be able to shoot all of your ammo at him, stunning him occasionally, but he cannot be killed that way.
Rather than fighting him, the best thing to do is run away from him in the opposite direction to the gate he crashed through, then turn around and run back.
You should then have time to slice the rope you tried to once already, just to the left of that gate the bear came through. You cut it by pressing square/X, and it will see a ladder fall down. You will then be able to climb up the ladder and get away. You’ll get a Metro Exodus trophy/achievement once you get away too.
How to Beat the Second Bear Fight
You will then come across him again later on in the same mission of Metro Exodus, after falling down a hole during a cutscene. He’ll be set on fire, will run off, and will then destroy a building down the end of the path.
Once you get control of Artyom again, you’ll see a crank and a zipline going over to the next area where the building the bear destroyed was.
You cannot do anything with the crank or zipline though. You need to stand by the crank, just by the cliffs edge. The bear will then rush towards you, attempt to attack you, and the edge of the cliff will crumble and he’ll fall as part of a brief cutscene.
You still cannot kill him with your weapons, but will be able to escape and return to where the Aurora is waiting once he falls off the cliff.
That’s everything you need to know about how to kill the bear in Metro Exodus. For more tips and tricks on the game, be sure to check out our Metro Exodus wiki guide or search for Twinfinite.
