How to Play the Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 Campaign in Co-op

Games Workshop has been making tabletop games for decades, and we’ve enjoyed several brilliant video game adaptations over the years. Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 is an accomplished cooperative multiplayer experience; here’s how to play the co-op campaign in the game.

This full-blown sequel to the original Battlefleet Gothic Armada RTS is bigger and richer in every department, and we’re stoked to say that includes a new co-operative main campaign.

Unfortunately, it’s not quite as polished as the main package. Still in a sort of early access stage, it’s lacking the polish of the rest of the game. To quote the publisher, Focus Home directly:

“As we’re working around the clock to polish every part of the game, we’re forced to release the co-op mode in an early access state today… we’re simply not entirely satisfied yet by the level of polish.”

They went on to confirm that the “current estimation for the full release of campaign co-op is during March.”

Still, it’s a joy to even have the co-op campaign as an option, and we’d still suggest there’s every reason to jump in now and at least give it a go.

Essentially, it supports two player online co-op throughout, with the second player controlling half of the fleet at your command for a given mission. Playing in this mode, you and a buddy will work together, strategizing as to how to approach each battle.

What’s cool about the Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 co-op mode is that you have shared control over the units of your buddy’s fleet. You can move units around even if they aren’t yours.

To access co-op, there’s an icon you’ll need to hit in the top right-hand corner of your screen while in a game. You can host another friend by adding their account information and inviting them into your campaign.

When you’re in co-op mode, you’ll see an indication in the top right-hand corner of the screen that highlights who you are cooperating with. You can “Stop Cooperation” at any time by hitting the button where that is displayed.

That’s all the information we have about how to play the co-op campaign in Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2. For more useful information on the game, be sure to search Twinfinite.
