PS Plus Free Games Predictions For December 2018

Video Game

The year is coming to a close, so Sony has one last chance to please players in 2018 by offering up some good game on its monthly subscription bonus service PS Plus. Every month, at least one larger AAA title usually makes the list, and for December 2018, we think it’s likely Far Cry 4 might finally make the cut.

Far Cry games are accustomed to be included on PS Plus, with Far Cry 2 bring free for PS3 owners in February 2012 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon being offered also for PS3 in December 2015.

It seems about time that the forth entry mainline entry in the series is included, as it has actually been offered for free as a PS Plus-esque bonus for a limited time before. Back in February 2018, any PS4 owner who signed up for a a 12 month PS Plus subscription between Jan. 29 and Feb. 12 also received a free digital copy of Far Cry 4.

If a game has been offered for free in one way or another on a Sony platform, it is usually much more likely it will make it to PS Plus sometime in the future as well.

After a bigger game, usually a few smaller indies make the list as well. Check out page two where we break down our two indie game predictions for December 2018 and why they seem likely.

PS Plus Free Games Predictions For December 2018

After the larger game a few smaller indies usually release with PS Plus every month as well, and we predict Super Hydorah from Abylight Studios would be a likely candidate.

The main reason we could see Super Hydorah on PS Plus is because it is available on multiple Sony platforms including PS4 and PS Vita.

If there is one underlying connection with Sony’s monthly PS Plays choices, it’s that it always includes at least one game that is multi-platformed (especially with PS Vita) so as to please multiple console owners at once.

Super Hydorah has also released an appropriate amount of time for it to be considered for PS Plus, dropping last year in December 2017 as a remaster. Before that it originally released in March 2010 and held the shortened title Hydorah.

Sony has also been known to also include PlayLink games in the lineup to encourage some fun times with couch co-op. PlayLink games work with standard smart devices and allow you to write, draw, and answer questions on your device that connects with the game on-screen in real time.

Past PlayLink games on PS Plus include That’s You in December 2017 and Knowledge is Power in October 2018.

With this in mind, PlayLink title Frantics would be an easy inclusion for Sony. In Frantics you and up to four players play against each other in 15 different mini-games as you try and win more crowns than your friends.

However, all the while a mischievous fox is sending private messages to all your phones to try and get you to back stab each other. Frantics originally released for PS4 in March 2018.

You can check out more PlayLink games on the PS4 page here, with tons of multiplayer games ranging from two to ten players.
