The Fallout Universe is filled with weird and fascinating stories, most of which center around the harsh nature of The Wastelands. Of all of the quests in Fallout 76, you’ll want to check out the one surrounding the Order of Mysteries. Here is everything you need to know about how to join the Order of Mysteries in Fallout 76.

While Fallout 76 may focus more on player interaction and audio log based quests and stories, there are still some interesting mysteries to be unraveled in Appalachia.

“Into the Mystery”

The first thing you are going to have to do to join the order is trigger the quest “Into the Mystery”. This can be down after looting the corpse of a former operative.

The former member’s body can be found located just next to the AVR Medical Center, rotting in the alleyway. When you try to loot the body, a message appears over your Pip-boy.

Once the message plays, a worn veil appears in the woman’s inventory, called Veil of Mysteries. Don’t sell or drop this item, as it will negate the quest line.

You’ll receive instructions to head to Riverside Manor, a ruined mansion located just to the east.

Riverside Manor

On the way to the manor, kill the Super Mutants and Ghouls in the way, then head inside. Once inside, the quest line reads that you should investigate the room – marked on the map – while wearing the Veil of Mysteries.

After equipping the Veil, head to the back of the room and open the door hidden behind the left blind. This will lead you to the headquarters for the Order of Mysteries.

In the bunker, walk to the terminal and register yourself as an Initiate. A new holotape will appear in your inventory.

It will reveal that Fallout 4’s Silver Shroud radio show actress, Shannon Rivers, led a covert organization in Fallout 76. This group specialized in teaching women to fight like her Mistress of Mystery character.

More of Rivers’ backstory can be found laced throughout the mansion, including a terminal belonging to her.

Fixing the Shroud

When Mrs. Rivers’ holotape starts playing, head down the stairs to the east. This will lead you to a fabricator terminal that will repair the veil.

After repairs, go back to the central terminal and request a mentor assignment. A new quest marker appears, leading you south into Lewisburg.

Collect the necessary items and survive the fight in Lewisburg. While returning Riverside Manor, you’ll now have access to a new quest line, signifying you’re officially in the Order of Mysteries.

That is everything you need to know about how to join the Order of Mysteries in Fallout 76. For other tips and help on the game, check out our Fallout 76 guide wiki. We’ve also put together a few other guides you might find helpful below.
