How to Get to & Play Team Deathmatch in Black Ops 4
Here’s everything you need to know about how to get and play Team Deathmatch in Black Ops 4.
For this year’s Call of Duty, Black Ops 4, things are a bit different when it come to modes. Gone is the standard single-player campaign, with the game focusing on a trilogy of multiplayer modes. Zombies and the usual competitive multiplayer modes remain, and a battle royale mode called Blackout has been added to take advantage of the genre’s recent popularity.
If you’re looking for the classic Call of Duty online experience, however, complete with old Black Ops maps, the multiplayer is still great. The modes available are a little more complex than in previous games, but you can still play the basic ones you know and love that are about nothing more than killing you opponents. Here’s how to get and play Team Deathmatch in Black Ops 4.
The Black Ops 4 menus can be pretty confusing at first glance, especially if you’re looking for something in particular. Simply follow these steps and you’ll be playing Team Deathmatch in Black Ops 4 in no time.
You don’t need to do anything in particular to unlock Team Deathmatch and it is available to everyone from the start.
From the game’s first menu screen, press X/A, then you’ll see the options for all the three modes (Blackout, Multiplayer, Zombies) in the middle of the screen. Above them will be recommended modes within those larger options, such as Duos in Blackout.
If Team Deathmatch is not above the Multiplayer option, select Multiplayer and you’ll be taken into the mode, where you can choose your classes and loadouts.
Then, select the box that’s above Find Match. It will be whichever mode you last played, or the same as the recommended one on the front menu page.
This will take you to the mode select screen. Now, press R1 to scroll across to Core modes, then you’ll see Team Deathmatch at the bottom of the middle column. Press X/A with it highlighted, and it’ll become your active mode. Then, back out and press Find Match as normal and you’ll be put into a lobby. Then, after each game, Team Deathmatch will be the default mode while you’re on the game, unless you change it.
