The Swords of Ditto
Best PS4 Co-Op Games of Q2
Taking notes from The Legend of Zelda, throwing in some originality, and then sprinkling some co-op on top makes The Swords of Ditto one of the best experiences on the PS4 in Q2 2018 to check out on the PS4. Having only a short amount of time, you and a buddy must work your way up to defeat the wicked witch Mormo, who attempts to spread her influence over the kingdom every 100 years.
What makes The Swords of Ditto so enjoyable and replayable is the fact that it plays like a roguelike; once you die in Swords of Ditto, you lose all of your progress and items, except for your power level. You become reborn as a brand new hero and must gain back your special weapons and equipment to power through the dungeons to eventually get to Mormo. If you’re a daredevil, unlike myself, you can even face Mormo at the beginning of the game, but good luck, she is insanely powerful and you will most likely face a death unlike no other. Still, you can certainly try!
Unravel Two
Best PS4 Co-Op Games of Q2
During E3 this summer, EA stirred up emotions from all over the world by announcing Unravel Two at their conference and releasing it on the same day on digital platforms. We had no idea that a sequel to the 2016 platformer was even in development but lo and behold, there it was.
This time around, Yarny has a friend to help him out on his adventure, meaning that the entirety of the experience is able to be played cooperatively with two friends. While the main campaign is a little bit on the short side, the platforming feels perfect with two players working together. The lush environments, beautifully crafted details around you, and these two adorable little Yarn creatures make every bit of Unravel Two quite the experience for any fan of platformers.
Onrush
Best PS4 Co-Op Games of Q2
Developer Codemasters has put together quite the package with their newest racing title that mixes car combat and pure destruction. Onrush changes everything you know about racing and makes you think on your feet to try to get the drop on your opponents. It’s not about being the fastest car in Onrush, but more about taking down other cars with flair and pizzazz.
Unfortunately, there is no split-screen cooperative play in Onrush, yet. But being a teamwork-focused experience, you can easily jump into another player’s lobby, team up with your buddies, and strategize to get that coveted win.
