We’re pretty excited about Vampyr, not because it’s the latest game from DONTNOD, the team behind Life Is Strange, but because there’s not a whole lot quite like it out there at the moment. Vampyr puts players in the role of Dr. Jonathan Reid in 1918 London as he tries to save the citizens from a flu pandemic. Oh, he’s also a Vampyr and can use his newfound powers to help him traverse around the world, track down clues on investigations, and of course, make light work of anyone who gets in his way.

It may not be the same episodic-style experience we’ve seen from the studio in the past, but the decisions you make within Vampyr will have an impact on the way the citizens of London react to you. With badass vampire combat, an intriguing good vs evil spin to things, and captivating story, Vampyr is definitely a game to keep your eye on in June 2018.

The Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset (June 5)

If you’ve not already jumped into The Elder Scrolls Online, there’s no better time to do so than right now. Since its console release in 2014, the game has continued to cram in content to keep players grinding away for hours on end. Summerset, following on from last year’s Morrowind expansion, will take players to the home of the High Elves for the first time.

You’ll find a new Psijic Order to join, new abilities to help make your character even more powerful, and of course, the mystery of Summerset to uncover. The narrative will finally wrap up that which began in the base game and continued through Clockwork City, and will also introduce players to Cloudrest, a new 12-player trial.

The first time you watched Jurassic Park (or Jurassic World for you younger folk), your mind likely jumped immediately to how awesome it’d be if you were in charge of your very own park. You wouldn’t let a T-Rex stampede through the park. You wouldn’t put thousands of customers’ lives in jeopardy. Well, Jurassic World Evolution is here so you can put your money where your mouth is.

As you might have guessed, the game simply tasks you with building your very own Jurassic Park. Choose which dinos you want to… create? What you’ll want to use them for – entertainment, science, or something more sinister. To keep things interesting, you’ll need to deal with tropical storms, attempted espionage, and even some attempted breakouts. Nobody said bioengineering dinosaurs and using them for your own personal profit was going to be easy now, did they?

There’s a certain shorts-wearing bandicoot that captivated players around the world back on the original PlayStation all those years ago. The precision jumping, memorable boss fights, secret levels, and relics were all part of a winning formula which catapulted the marsupial to the status of a gaming icon. Sure, we had spin-offs and the occasional adventure after the trilogy of PS1 games was released, but none of them ever quite resonated with fans quite like they did.

Praise Aku Aku, then, that Crash Bandicoot N Sane Trilogy is finally making its way to Xbox One in June 2018. With completely reworked visuals, improved controls, and a number of quality of life improvements, the N Sane Trilogy brings the iconic titles to the current generation of consoles with all of the creature comforts you’d expect from a 2018 release. Plus, if you’ve got an Xbox One X, it’ll run at a beautiful 4K resolution, so that’s always a bonus. If you have even the slightest interest in revisiting these classics, this is a must-buy in June.

The Crew 2 (June 29)

The Crew had a pretty awesome vision – to provide an explorable, giant version of the entire United States of America for players to cruise across at their own leisure. You could complete missions in the single-player story mode, mess around with friends off-roading in the Rockies, or do a straight coast-to-coast race if you want to put your stamina to the test. Though it had some potential, The Crew was held back by some glaring technical issues.

The Crew 2 is taking things back to the drawing board, fleshing out its list of vehicles to include speedboats, planes, and bikes. You’ll have to join one of the game’s four different families, opening up new disciplines, challenges, and vehicles for you to try your hand at, as well as rivals that’ll try and outdo you at every turn. The game will also include four-player multiplayer again, though any further details have yet to be shared. Still, if you’re looking for a racer that sits somewhere between simulation and arcade, The Crew 2 might be worth checking out.
