Is There Splitscreen Local Co-Op Multiplayer in Far Cry 5?

Recommended Videos

Far Cry 5 drops players headfirst into a dangerous world filled with psychotic cultists and aggressive wildlife. The game takes the series to the fictional region of Hope County, Montana, a rural, mountainous area in the United States. There’s an updated recruiting system, a hefty map editor, and stunt missions to contend with thus time around. Previous Far Cry Games have often had an emphasis on cooperative play, dedicating entirely new missions and modes to it, and Far Cry 5 is no different.

Whereas previous titles have featured a separate mode for cooperative multiplayer, it’s possible to complete the entirety of Far Cry 5’s campaign with a friend. Unfortunately, this only applies to online cooperative play, with no option for local splitscreen multiplayer currently. Bad news for players wanting to pair up with a buddy on the couch, but still impressive that the entire game can be played via online co-op nonetheless. There’s outposts to liberate, wildlife to hunt, and a benevolent cult leader to take down, all with one of your pals in tow.

It’s definitely handy having another player to face the wilds of Hope County with, as they can offer assistance and revive you if you are knocked down. All experience earned while in cooperative play also counts towards each individual player’s progression too, so there’s no penalty for teaming up.

That’s everything you’ll need to know about where to find a plane in Far Cry 5. For more useful tips and guides on the game, be sure to check out our wiki.
