Compared to the same months in 2017, which saw the release of Resident Evil 7 and Horizon Zero Dawn, January and February of this year have been a little quiet in terms of high profile releases. We have been treated Monster Hunter: World and Shadow of the Colossus Remake but there’s been little else in terms of AAA titles. However, that all changes as we reach March. The upcoming month sees the release of Far Cry 5, Sea of Thieves, Ni No Kuni 2, and Burnout Paradise Remastered, all of which will surely be extremely popular. That’s not all there is to look forward to, however. Here’s all the games that are releasing in March 2018.

(WEEK ONE: March 1 – March 7)

The first week of March is one of the busiest of the month but arguably the lightest for high-profile titles. The most recognisable names are Subsurface Circular, which is coming to Switch on March 1, and Final Fantasy XV, which has a Royal Edition coming to consoles and a base release coming to PC on March 6. They’re both re-releases, however, and you may have played them before.
When it comes to new releases, Bravo Team may be on your radar. The PlayStation VR exclusive was originally scheduled to release late last year but was delayed shortly before. It is a virtual reality shooter from Supermassive Games and is quite a departure from what they usually develop, since they’re known for the horror games Until Dawn, Hidden Agenda, and The Inpatient. Here’s all the games coming during the first week.
- March 1 – Battlezone: Combat Commander (PC)
- March 1 – Beyond the Invisible: Darkness Came (PC)
- March 1 – 0°N 0°W (PC)

(WEEK TWO: March 8 – March 14)

The second week of March is probably the quietest of the month. Warhammer: Vermintide 2 will be popular when it comes to PC, as will Golem when it comes to PlayStation VR. However, the Devil May Cry HD Collection may be the most interesting release because, should it prove popular, it may suggest that the appetite is there amongst gamers for a brand new Devil May Cry game. Here’s all the games releasing between March 8 and March 14:
- March 8 – Warhammer: Vermintide 2 (PC)
- March 8 – Bleed 2 (Switch)
- March 8 – Your Four Knight Princesses Training Story – (Switch, PS4, Xbox One)
- March 13 – Devil May Cry HD Collection (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
- March 13 – The Raven Remastered (PC, PS4, Xbox One)
- March 13 – Golem (PSVR)

(WEEK THREE: March 15 – March 21)

March 15 is when the big releases begin to appear. One of the first Switch exclusives of the year, Kirby Star Allies, comes out alongside Burnout Paradise Remastered on March 16. Kirby’s game isn’t the only console exclusive to debut this month, however, with Rare’s Sea of Thieves coming to Xbox One at the end of the week. You’ll be able to explore the high seas, plundering as you go, alongside your friends. Excitingly, if you aren’t entirely sold on Sea of Thieves, you can play it simply by subscribing to Xbox Game Pass when the game launches. Here’s all the games releasing during the third week of March.
- March 15 – Surviving Mars – (PC, PS4, Xbox One)

(WEEK FOUR/FIVE: March 22 – March 30)

The final nine days of March are when the games come thick and fast. Beginning with the next EA Original title, A Way Out, which is entirely co-op focused and requires just one person to own the game for two people to be able to play it from start to finish. The same day, Detective Pikachu and Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom release for 3DS and PS4/PC respectively, and they couldn’t be much more different. Detective Pikachu sees you and a gruff talking Pikachu solve crimes and Ni No Kuni II is a sprawling JRPG that builds significantly on the 2010 original.
Finally, arguably the most significant release of March 2018 is Far Cry 5. It will follow the same action and chaos focused structure of the other Far Cry games but 5 takes the series to the US for the first time, following a violent religious cult in Montana. Here’s every video game due to release at the end of the month:
- March 23 – A Way Out (PS4, Xbox One, PC)
- March 23 – Detective Pikachu (3DS)
- March 23 – Ni No Kuni II: Revenant Kingdom (PS4, PC)
