Kingdom Come Deliverance’s combat system is a little different from typical RPGs. Rather than a hack and slash affair in which the victor is principally decided on who has the highest level, things are a little more skill-based. You’ll have to learn the nuances of how to thrust, cut, and block effectively even when you’re a higher level than your opponent. That all being said, it’s still an RPG and having superior weapons and equipment is going to give you a huge advantage. So you’ll want to quickly locate the best sword in Kingdom Come Deliverance.

Specifically what this weapon is will slightly depend on your preferred play style, but for our money, the sword that does the most damage is a pretty hand one to have in the inventory. This is a Longsword called the St George’s Sword. It has a slash damage of 72, and if you’re over 20 Strength then you should be doing over 150 damage! If you’re the diplomatic type, the St George’s Sword can be sold for 2.2k Groschen.

The weapon can be picked up free of charge in a special location. Interestingly, it was part of a Treasure Map that never made it into the game (later data mined by a user post-launch). But you don’t need the map to find it. Simply head to the location and you’ll find it.

Unfortunately for console players, you’ll have to use the lockpicking mechanic to get into the chest that hides this sword. It is only an “easy” chest, though, so you shouldn’t struggle too much.
