Mystic Artes – Tales of Berseria

Mystic Artes are powerful special attacks you’ll unlock after a certain point in the story of Tales of Berseria. Each character has their own unique artes that can be used, and they allow you to cause extra damage to enemies and keep your combo chain going for longer.

Once you unlock Mystic Artes, it isn’t hard to use them. The Break Gauge, which is the number to the right of your character’s portraits on the bottom of the screen, needs to at least be at 3. When it is, tap the L2 button during a combo and your character will loop into the Mystic Arte. The Break Gauge will refill during battle as you damage enemies, and receive damage yourself.

Characters will learn more of these attacks as you progress through the story, so make sure to find which one you like best. It should also be noted that you can go into Tactics in the main menu, and adjust how your party members will automatically use Mystic Artes and their Break Gauge.
