How to Pet Trico – The Last Guardian

Recommended Videos

The Last Guardian is a story about a boy and his animal companion, meaning the gameplay is riddled with subtle bonding moments between the two. As you travel, you’ll be able to feed, guide, and climb your companion, but most importantly, you can show your love by petting Trico.

Once you begin your journey, you’ll be able to pet Trico by standing next to the beast and pressing the Circle button. The boy will then comfort your friend with a touch and some nice, unintelligible words. You can pet Trico in a number of places, from feathery head to feathery butt.

Petting will also prove vital to certain gameplay moments, as you’ll need it to calm Trico after stressful moments. In these situations, make sure you’re petting Trico on the head or neck, as this will prove most calming.

There’s no limit to how many times you can pet Trico, so go crazy with the mechanic. Just make sure you eventually continue playing, as great as the petting may be.
