Steep: How to Turn Off the Trick Safety Setting

Trick Safety – Steep

While Steep gives you the freedom to try out whatever you want while you’re on the snowy slopes, it will prevent you from pulling off a trick if it thinks you’ve got a slim chance of landing it. Of course, there’s always the possibility the odds will be in your favor and you will, and because of this, you can turn off the Trick Safety setting in the game’s menu.

To do this, press the Start button on your PS4 or Xbox One controller and go to Game Settings. You should now see the Trick Safety option listed. Simply select the ‘Off’ option next to it and the game will no longer prevent you from attempting risky stunts.

While this may be beneficial to some more experienced players, newcomers may find it more helpful to have the setting turned off as it prevents them from ruining a skill chain on something they had literally 0% chance of landing.

Whether it works for you or not, however, you can always turn the option back on in the settings the exact same way you turned it off. Experiment with both options to see which one suits you best so you can unleash the snowsports pro that lies within.
