Consumables
What’s a Halloween event without some treats that Guardians can consume as they enjoy the 2016 Destiny: Festival of the Lost Event. Last year was full of tons of goodies that let you change your appearance or earn some bonuses and this year looks to be no different. There are some new additions as well as some updated oldies (but goodies). Here’s what you can scarf down as you trick-or-treat through the game’s social spaces.
- Bad Dream – New creepy head replacement.
- Chromatic Jackolyte – Updated pumpkin head that’s shiny.
- Crawl of Creeps – New spawn animation with spiders.
- Gifts of the Lost – Candy bag.
- Sleepless Gaze – Replaces head with giant eye.
- Strokes of Midnight – New spawn animation.
- Treasures of the Lost – Giftbox containing random Festival of the Lost items.
- Whim of Rahool – New spawn animation.
- Fight of Shadows – Â Updated spawn animation with bats.
- Ascendant Raisins – Updated Tiny Raisins
Masks, Because Even Destiny’s Guardians Need Costumes
Festival of the Lost wouldn’t be a proper Halloween event if players couldn’t disguise themselves as the monsters and other elements of the game’s worlds. Last year introduced plenty of masks based on the previously released DLCs, and this year brings in some Rise of Iron costumes as well. There are eight new masks you can acquire throughout this Destiny event:
- Aksis
- Firewolf
- Ghost
- Lost Prince (Mara Sov’s brother)
- Revenant
- Saladin
- SIVA
- Wolf
There are also 17 returning masks, just in case you’re missing a few from your collection and want to rectify that situation:
- Atheon
- Skull
- Crota
- Cryptarch
- Eris Morn
- Exotic Engram
- Legendary Engram
- Oryx
- Petra Venj
- Rare Engram
- Skolas
- Speaker
- Tiger
- Traveler
- Uncommon Engram
- Warden
- Xur
Spooky Customization Options
Outside of masks, which you probably wouldn’t use outside of Destiny’s Festival of the Lost event, there are some items that many players will definitely use after everything is said and done. These include shaders, new Ornaments for exotics, and emotes. Check out what you’ll find this year:
Shaders
- Candlelight
- Sea of Tears
- Unquiet Spirit
Ornaments
- Dragonsbane (Bad Juju)
- Hoodoom (Bad Juju)
EmotesÂ
- Howl
- Terrify
Some Gear to Capture the Spirit of the Season
There is also some gear that Guardians can collect throughout the event that they can use forever once they’ve gotten their hands on it. While there isn’t much that has been revealed (we’re not even entirely sure that there is more), the two pieces are pretty sweet.
The two items are a Ghost and a Sparrow. The Ghost is called the Deviled Ghost and looks like your typical little companion, only it has red devil horns (spooky!). The Sparrow is called the S-35 Jealousy, and it gets its name from the bright, radioactive green color that it’s adorned with.Â
Event Quests
Like all events in Destiny, Festival of the Lost will also include a quest line for players to complete before the event ends. The quests will have you carrying out objectives for NPCs in each of the social spaces. Just like last year you’ll find yourself wearing masks and completing some specific challenges in order to earn the respect, and gifts, of the Lost.
- A Brilliant Idea – Impress Lord Saladin with your excellent taste in masks. (“Imitation is the highest form of flattery, after all.” – Tyra Karn)
- Deeds of Fire – Reenact Saldain’s deeds of yore while wearing his mask.
- Find Another Audience – An unappreciative audience. Better tell Tyra.
- Lethal Masquerade  -Earn Crucible kills while wearing a mask.
- Mask Task – Complete Public Events and collect engrams while wearing masks.
- Return to Eva Levante – Return to Eva Levante. Then fill the bag by defeating foes and earning Crucible kills while wearing a mask.
- Team Effort – Compete a Heroic Strike and kill a Court of Oryx member summoned by a Stolen Rune while masked.
- Touring the Tower – Visit people in the Tower and collect Festival of the Lost candy.
- Triumphant Return – Tell Tyra the tales of your valor.
Hopefully you’re able to get everything done this year so you can revel in your accomplishments as you tell newcomers nightmarish tales of your Halloween exploits.
Happy Halloween, Guardians.
