Getting Out of the Bunker in We Happy Few

Recommended Videos

We Happy Few kicks things off with a rather twisted prologue that allows you to witness the sickening transition from the high of Joy to a dark reality. After that series of unfortunate events plays out, players find themselves in a bunker surrounded by steaming pipes and some useful materials, as well as a dead body.

Your first task in fleeing the island you’ve found yourself exploring is to get out of that mysterious bunker. It can be confusing, mostly due to the darkness and the fact that you’re probably terrified, but it’s actually quite simple. Once you regain control of your character, keep walking down the linear path, and look out for some stairs on the side that lead down.

You’ll be in a new room, full of lockers and desks you can search for resources. Your task here is to craft a lockpick, which can be done with two bobby pins and putting them together in your crafting menu. Pick the locked door in the side, and be prepared to be assaulted by an enemy. Punch him to death, and once he’s out, push the button in the room to activate the ladder that leads you out of the bunker. Don’t forget to activate the hatch as well, which will let you fast travel back to this location once you find another hatch elsewhere in the world.

As soon as you exit the bunker, you’ll be able to explore the world of We Happy Few a little more freely. Have fun and avoid the call of Joy.
