Stardew Valley: How to Move Chests

How to Move Chests in Stardew Valley

Recommended Videos

You’ll be crafting and collecting a ton of stuff in Stardew Valley. While you will only have a set amount of space in your backpack, you can build chests to place around your farm to store whatever excess stuff you don’t necessarily need to be carrying. Each one has 30 slots to store different items within it. You’re able to craft chests as soon as you can with 50 wood.

Once you’ve placed a chest and have things within it, it might seem as though you’re unable to move it. Whacking it with your axe won’t do, you’re going to have to empty it out first. Once the chest is all empty, then you can whack it and have it placed within your inventory to move wherever. Always remember: it needs to be empty first.

There’s not much else you need to know in order to move chests in Stardew Valley, so as long as you’ve emptied it before hitting it with your axe, you shouldn’t have any problems.
