Quantum Break – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Everything We Learned About Quantum Break at Gamescom 2015
Let’s kick off our list of the best Gamescom 2015 trailers with one of the most eagerly awaited Xbox One exclusives, Quantum Break. And WOW, while we’ve seen time used as a gameplay mechanic before but I’m not sure if I’ve ever seen it this heavily used. Quantum Break’s gameplay looks insane. Trust me at first you’ll be all 🙁 cause it just looks like another third-person shooter, but by the end you’ll have a smile on your face. There’s so much crazy time based mechanics weaved into battle. So much so that it seems like you’ll be spending more time freezing and speeding up time than not. Oh and there are others that can do this too, at least artificially. There was also an impressive gameplay walkthrough if you want to see more of Quantum Break’s gunplay.

Everything We Learned About Scalebound at Gamescom 2015
Finally, after a months of waiting, fans of Platinum Games and Xbox One exclusives got to see what Scalebound is all about. Apparently it’s a third person action RPG starring a guy from the modern world stuck in a place that is not the modern world and his dragon BFF. Sign me up! Also, coming as a surprise maybe to some, there is a co-op multiplayer as well. You’ll face off against massive enemies that apparently require four people and four massive-but-still-less-massive-than-the-boss dragons to take down.
Dark Souls III – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Everything We Know About Dark Souls III So Far
Dark Souls III fans got everything they wanted out of the new Gamescom 2015 trailer. There’s the dark cinematics and storyline that the series has become known for. We have the scenes of its visceral and intense combat, and of course shots of some of the massive bosses players will have to somehow overcome. But let’s be real. This trailer would be BS if it didn’t contain footage of the main character getting their ass handed to them. It does, this trailer is accurate.
Final Fantasy XV Dawn – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Everything We Learned About Final Fantasy XV at Gamescom 2015
Despite us being strung along for years about a release date, slowly but surely, we are learning a lot about Final Fantasy XV. We got a feel for its gameplay in its extended demo Episode Duscae. Now its latest trailer, “DAWN”, gives us more insight into its story, the main reason why many fans play Final Fantasy games to begin with.
Crackdown 3 – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Everything We Learned About Crackdown 3 at Gamescom 2015
We’ve known about Crackdown 3 for quite some time now, but it was during this year’s Gamescom that fans finally got a detailed look at the anticipated Xbox One exclusive. While its maybe devoid of a lot specific information, what is on display is its incredible destructible environment that will be in play during multiplayer sessions.
Mirror’s Edge Catalyst – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
It’s almost impossible for us here at Twinfinite to see Mirror’s Edge Catalyst and not end up with drool on our keyboards. Each trailer is seemingly more impressive than the last and this one doesn’t disappoint either. Somehow Mirror’s Edge Catalyst looks even more action-packed, more intense and more beautiful than ever in this new trailer.
Star Wars Battlefront’s Fighter Squadron Mode – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Star Wars Battlefront so far has nailed the Star Wars movie aesthetic better than any Star Wars game before it. EA Dice has perfectly captured the chaos that goes on during Star War’s most iconic battles. We’ve seen the full scale war modes already and at Gamescom we got to see what it’s like to be involved in an all out aerial war. Yup, looks just as awesome as the ground stuff.
Halo Wars 2 – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
This one right here probably wins the award for making the most dreams come true. Halo Wars, one of the most beloved and under appreciated Xbox 360 games of all time, finally gets the sequel in Halo Wars 2 that many have been clamoring for years. While it’s devoid of gameplay, its mere existence is enough to make it on this list of the best of the best.
We Happy Few – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
This one probably takes the cake as the creepiest trailer at Gamescom 2015 that’s for sure. We Happy Few takes place in some kind of dystopian England where everyone is all drugged up and artificially happy and the main character is one of the few that aren’t. Of course, everyone wears creepy face paint in this reality because why wouldn’t they. If you missed out on We Happy Few during its first go around back at PAX East, then this trailer should bring you up to speed as it masterfully sells its concept.
Mafia III – Gamescom 2015 Trailer
Finally, we have Mafia III. This one for me was the trailer that I had zero interest going in, and left with lots of interest. At first glance, it looks nothing like the other games in the series. It takes place in late sixties New Orleans, stars a Vietnam veteran and a group of people that do not appear to be classic mobsters. Nor do they appear to be related to him. According to early reports, you’ll be joining a startup mob and taking it to the classic families that have caused torment for many. Color me hyped.
