Next up on our top picks is the open world space sim Elite: Dangerous. Having been released only two months ago in April, the 25% discount certainly seems generous for such a huge and expansive game as Elite: Dangerous. The 25% discount brings the game down to $44.99 and so although it still seems a bit pricey, you’re getting a ton of gameplay and frequent updates from developer Frontier Developments to boot. The game has received very positive user reviews once again from the Steam community and has also got a Metacritic score of 80/100 at the time of writing. Interested? Read more about the game below.

Elite: Dangerous is the definitive massively multiplayer space epic, bringing gaming’s original open world adventure to the modern generation with a connected galaxy, evolving narrative and the entirety of the Milky Way re-created at its full galactic proportions.

Starting with only a small starship and a few credits, players do whatever it takes to earn the skill, knowledge, wealth and power to survive in a futuristic cutthroat galaxy and to stand among the ranks of the iconic Elite. In an age of galactic superpowers and interstellar war, every player’s story influences the unique connected gaming experience and handcrafted evolving narrative. Governments fall, battles are lost and won, and humanity’s frontier is reshaped, all by players’ actions.

400 Billion Star Systems. Infinite Freedom. Blaze Your Own Trail.

Our final top pick is the survival, sandbox adventure, Terraria. Through digging, fighting and building the player will do all that they can to survive in a retro styled world. There are plenty of options available to the player in order to gain resources necessary to survive, such as delving deep into cavernous expanses in search of treasure and raw materials. Simply put? Think Minecraft but in a 2D form. The game has received overwhelmingly positive reviews from the Steam community and equally positive reviews from critics, with a current Metacritic score of 83/100.
