New Weapon
Assassin’s Creed Unity provides dozens of different weapons from rifles, axes, and swords, with Arno Dorian also being equipped with with a Phantom Blade. The Dead Kings DLC introduces the Guillotine Gun that has been revealed to have physical and ranged advantages.
The Assassin’s Creed franchise has always had an array of trademark weapons, such as Connor’s Tomahawk, and the upcoming DLC adds to this list. With explosive capabilities, Arno will explore the underground tombs of Saint-Denis with groups of raiders attempting to stop him.

Continued Storyline
After the emotional and romantic story in Assassin’s Creed Unity, Arno now travels to Saint-Denis in search of isolation and understanding. Discovering the vast underground caverns, he finds himself wrapped up in something more than expected.
Saint-Denis is known for the tombs of several French Kings where hidden mysteries and knowledge lays. The trailer reveals some sort of extra-terrestrial force from one of the tombs with Arno exploring the catacombs to discover its meaning.
New single player and co-op missions will be available within the DLC along with a whole new map to explore.
The Dead Kings DLC is being released for free due to the rough release of Unity by Ubisoft, and originally was a part of the now defunct Season Pass.
New Environment
Dead Kings seems to take place predominantly underground, where some of the main Unity storyline takes place. Arno will be exploring decrepit crypts deep under the surface with numerous puzzles and enemies to defeat.
Ubisoft describes the map as a “subterranean warren of tunnels and chambers,” with the cinematic trailer revealing the depth of the underground network Arno is to explore.
The Dead Kings DLC is set to bring more darkness to the Arno Dorian Saga, and after a touching ending to the main Unity storyline, this seems like the right step forward. Arno is searching for isolation and meaning, attempting to leave his past behind, and hopefully Saint-Denis will bring some sort of closure to his continuing story.
Assassin’s Creed Unity: Dead Kings will be released on the 13th of January on all consoles and PC.
