For Rent is the latest Expansion Pack coming to The Sims 4, and one of its most anticipated new features is the ability to build residential rental lots.
This new lot type allows players to build up to six separate living units on one lot, meaning up to six different households can coexist on the same plot of land. If you’re interested in building a multi-unit living space and having your Sim experience life as a landlord or tenant, you’ll want to know which worlds and other Sims 4 packs are compatible with this new feature. Here are all the worlds that are not compatible with The Sims 4 For Rent.
All Worlds that are Incompatible with The Sims 4 For Rent
According to the official For Rent FAQ with the pack’s developers, Residential Rentals are a brand new lot type. This means that you’ll be able to build Residential Rental units in essentially every world in the game on any lot, just as you would be able to with any regular home. However, there are a few exceptions.
Residential Rentals cannot be built on Sulani Waterfront lots, Penthouse lots, and Vacation Worlds and Hidden lots. Sulani Waterfront lots include all lots that are located directly on the water in the world of Sulani from the Island Living pack. There is one Penthouse lot in the Sims 4, and it is located in San Myshuno from the City Living pack. Finally, Vacation Worlds and Hidden lots includes the areas that came with Jungle Adventure, Outdoor Retreat, and Batuu.
The Residential Rental feature was designed with the intention of being applicable in worlds besides the new For Rent world of Tomarang. Simmers are encouraged to use it to build University Dorms in Britechester, miniature villages in Henford-on-Badgley, or a house shared with multiple generations of a family in San Sequoia. So, beyond the exceptions listed above, you’re free to build Residential Rentals to your heart’s content in any of the other worlds you own.
That’s all the info on what worlds are compatible with The Sims 4 For Rent, but we’ve got plenty more Sims 4 content below.
