Once placed, you can launch plorts into it just like the plort market at the conservatory. The main difference here is that the market link does not show you the current prices on the market, so make sure you double-check the price board before you leave.

The market link is acquired randomly when talking to Mochi at the communicator. Mochi has several items she can randomly give to players depending on how many research drones they have discovered.
