2018’s Assassin’s Creed Odyssey offers up a game mode unique to all other Assassin’s Creed games. Assassin’s Creed Odyssey Story Creator Mode Explained

In Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, Story Creator Mode is a free tool that allows players to create their own unique missions within the game. This mode allows users to use different in-game maps, tasks, characters and items of their choosing, while also writing their own dialogue and branching paths to make the quest unique.

It’s worth noting, though, that players cannot create their own characters. All available character templates are based on characters that were met throughout the campaign and side-quests of Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Also, the map areas you can use all hail from the base games; map areas from the Fate of Atlantis DLC will not be usable in this mode.

Once stories are created, players can share these missions with others online. The creator is a web-based tool based on Ubisoft’s quest designer, which means players will need a computer to make content. That said, created content can be downloaded and utilized across all platforms that the game is available on.

Players will be able to earn XP while playing through missions, but creators will not be able to influence this within the quest design. XP gains will be tethered in gameplay based on the level of the player tackling a given quest, meaning players will have a different experience depending on how much time they’ve put into leveling their mercenary.

How to Access Story Creator Mode

To access the Story Creator Mode in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, you’ll have to log on to Ubisoft’s Story Creator Mode website. From there, you will be able to create your own stories – and browse other created stories – through the homepage of the site. You will need a Ubisoft account to create and play stories, but you can browse the site without one.

As far as accessing created stories within the game, the main menu will give you the option to turn on the Story Creator Mode from the main menu. Once you do, user-created stories will automatically appear and will be shown with a special icon within the world.

That’s all the basics and important information you need to know about the Story Creator Mode in Assassin’s Creed Odyssey. Stay tuned to Twinfinite for more Assassin’s Creed news, and get ready to create your own stories to celebrate Odyssey’s recent release on Xbox Game Pass.
