NBA 2K23 Player Rankings Guide

While it may come as no shock as to which NBA superstar tops the player rankings in NBA 2K23, we wouldn’t be surprised to see a little push back. So let’s get to it, shall we? And to keep it fun, let’s go in order of release.

Devin Booker Player Ranking — 91

This year’s cover athlete may not boast the game’s highest rating, but there’s plenty to like about Devin Booker in NBA 2K23.

Kevin Durant Player Ranking — 96

While the Brooklyn Nets may or may not be a mess and while we do not know what the long-term future holds for this particular superstar, there’s no denying Kevin Durant’s ability. He graces us with a 96 overall this year.

Turns out KD has some thoughts on said rating, however:

LeBron James Player Ranking — 96

Oh yeah, this is going to get spicy. The King finds himself in Year 20, but despite his age and the general disarray of his Los Angeles Lakers, James’ ability will not be denied.

Jayson Tatum Player Ranking — 93

The former Duke standout is already a star for his Boston Celtics, taking them to the brink of an NBA Championship last season. And while a title would have been sweeter, Tatum is here to make his claim as the present and future of the league.

Steph Curry Player Ranking — 96

Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors are back on top of the NBA, but the deadly three-point shooter falls just short of the game’s top rating this year. Something tells us he’ll take the trade off.

Giannis Antetokounmpo Player Ranking — 97

The 27-year-old two-time MVP and one-time NBA champ with the Milwaukee Bucks sits atop the mountain in NBA 2K23, but he’s got plenty of competition right on his heels. Is he deserving of this title?

Luka Dončić Player Ranking — 95

The Dallas Mavericks are on the up, and there’s little one can do to stop Luka Dončić now. Could he be the player in NBA 2K23? Guess there’s only one way to find out.

Ja Morant Player Ranking — 93

Speaking of on the up, Ja Morant and the Memphis Grizzlies have plenty to say as the NBA 2K franchise enters another season. If you’re still sleeping on this young star, we suggest your change that.

Zion Williamson Player Ranking — 87

Rounding out NBA 2K’s live reveal is the former number one overall selection from 2019, Zion Williamson. And while he may think he has plenty to prove on the court following a one-year injury-related absence, there’s plenty to love about the big man in NBA 2K23 as he looks to pick up where he left off.

Zach LaVine Player Ranking — 88

The Chicago Bulls are only looking to get better as another season approaches, and Zach LaVine — who has clearly re-established himself as a star — will be at the center of it all.

DeMar DeRozan Player Ranking — 89

Speaking of the Bulls, joining LaVine atop the high ratings list is two-way player DeMar DeRozan. Following LeBron James and Steph Curry, respectively, DeRozan becomes our third-oldest player on this list.

Rudy Gobert Player Ranking — 88

The towering Frenchman, Rudy Gobert, enters NBA 2K23 with a very respectable 88 overall. Not only that, he’ll be taking his defensive prowess over to his new team— the Minnesota Timberwolves. Are consecutive playoff appearances on the horizon?

LaMelo Ball Player Ranking — 87

As the Charlotte Hornets continue to improve, so too does their star man LaMelo Ball, as he enters 2K23 with a bit of a ratings bump from last season’s installment—up three notches from 2K22.
