How to Defeat Heket Boss Fight in Cult of the Lamb

I'll see you in Heket.

Cult of the Lamb is pretty much what you’d get if Stardew Valley and Hades had a baby, as it combines the best farm sim and roguelike elements from each respective game and makes for a Heket of a good time. The overall goal of the game is to defeat the four Bishops that have chained up your god, The One Who Waits, in chains. Here is everything you need to know about how to defeat the Heket boss fight in Cult of the Lamb, the second main boss in the game.

Before you go about trying to fight Heket, we recommend you go for Leshy first. Not only is this Bishop’s dungeon shorter, but it’ll also show you the ropes on how to collect tarot cards, choose paths, and collect resources in a much more forgiving environment.

How to Unlock Anura

In order to get to Heket, you’ll need to unlock their domain, Anura. To do this, you’ll have to have at least six followers unlocked and alive at your camp.

Once you have six cultists, all you have to do to unlock Anura is go to its door and press A or X, and then a ritual will be performed, unlocking the door. After you unlock the door, you’ll need to follow the paths until the circle right above the door is full. You’ll encounter plenty of events and mini-bosses along the way, but once it is filled up, you’ll be able to fight Heket.

While definitely not too difficult, Heket is certainly harder to beat than the first boss, as it has deadlier attacks, more annoying spawn, and it also takes longer to get to when on Crusade. Once you have reached it, the Bishop turns into a giant frog.

As the second boss, Heket has a bit more up his sleeve when it comes to damaging you. That includes a stop attack, tongue smash, fly bombs, and two different kinds of minions.

The first three attacks are just all about avoiding where Heket lands or rolling out of the way when each area of effect attack is about to hit the ground. After they land each on, there will be a brief window where you can dart in and do some damage.

For the minions, there will be frogs that spawn throughout the fight. You can kind of ignore these, but they will become a bit annoying as the action goes on, as they cover enough ground with their jumps where they could damage you if you’re too focused on Heket.

Heket also shoots swamp flies out his mouth that will follow you for a time. You can either slash at these or avoid them and they’ll be gone after a few seconds.

After you Heket passed half health, it’ll increase the intensity of his attacks. Hops are quicker, fly bombs cover more ground, and its tongue splits into multiple locations you need to avoid. On top of that, they’ll also jump up into the sky and spawn two big frogs.

In order to get Heket back, you need to kill both of the big frogs. Once you do, it comes back down, and you can finish the fight off.
