Wondering why the Dragon Rune Lance pickaxe has been temporarily disabled in Fortnite? In this guide, we’ll explain what the problem was and everything we know about when the pickaxe should make its return to the game.
Why Has the Dragon Rune Lance Pickaxe Been Disabled in Fortnite?
Fortnite Status on Twitter announced that “Due to an issue, we’ve temporarily disabled the Dragon Rune Lance Pickaxe.” It also said it would update players when more information could be shared, but has yet to come out with any further comment on the temporary removal of the pickaxe from the game.
The Dragon Rune Lance pickaxe has been temporarily disabled because it was bugged and removed the footsteps sound when carried by a player. In other words, you could sneak up silently behind players while carrying the pickaxe.
If you had audio visualization options enabled, any player running with the Dragon Rune Lance pickaxe also wouldn’t have their footsteps appear for you. In other words, the pickaxe is rather bugged and provides players using and carrying it an unfair advantage over other players that don’t.
The Dragon Rune Lance pickaxe is available as an unlock on the Fortnite Chapter 3 Season 3 Battler Pass page 3.
When Will the Dragon Rune Lance Pickaxe Return?
As this appears to be a fairly minor issue with the pickaxe itself, it’s likely that it’ll return to players in-game Lockers very shortly. It might just take a while for Epic Games to get to the bottom of what’s causing it.
Currently, Epic Games hasn’t shared any exact timeline on when it’ll return, but with a bit of luck, players should see it return by the end of this week.
