How to Get Runic Fang in Genshin Impact

Runic Fang is an ascension material in Genshin Impact that is required to level up characters and make them more powerful. However, it is hard to get, so players who need it should prepare to put the work in. Anyone looking to ascend Yelan to higher levels will need to farm up quite a bit of this resource.

At the moment, Yelan is the only character who uses Runic Fang as an ascension material, and it is not needed for any weapon ascensions either. In this guide, we will show you where to get Runic Fang in case you want to start farming it before you roll for the character.

Where to farm Runic Fang in Genshin Impact

Runic Fang can only be obtained in one place in Genshin Impact, and that is by taking on Level 30 or higher Ruin Serpents. The Ruin Serpent is the area boss in The Serpent’s Cave in the Chasm that can be found in Liyue.

In order to get access to this area, players will need to find and begin the Surreptitious Seven-Star Seal Sundering world quest. To begin the quest, players will need to speak to Muning, who can be located near the Teleporter to the northwest of Quingxu Pool in Liyue. The quest itself is straightforward and requires following some waypoints and then destroying the Bedrock Keys by aligning geo formations with them and then striking the formations.

How to fight the Ruin Serpent

Like all area bosses, the Ruin Serpent will automatically aggro to you when you get too close. It has a high resistance to physical damage and only a ten percent resistance to all other damage types. The Ruin Serpent can dig under the ground and unleash a number of attacks that will use its massive body as a weapon.

From time to time, the Ruin Serpent will expose four weak spots that players can focus on. Hitting them will break them, and when all four are destroyed, the Ruin Serpent will enter a paralyzed state, allowing you to really dish out the damage.

As well as Runic Shards, the Ruin Serpent can drop Prithiva Topaz Sliver, Fragment, Chunk, and Gemstones, along with artifacts from the Traveling Doctor, Instructor, Exile, Gladiator, and Wanderer’s Troupe sets.
