Elden Ring is one of the biggest video game releases of the year, and also certainly a big Game of the Year contender so far. Martin wrote the overarching mythos of the world of Elden Ring and its history and mythology. However, it was FromSoftware that worked on the actual narrative structure of the game and the dialogue and conversations between its characters.

In an interview with Edge, Hidetaka Miyazaki made it clear that Martin was responsible for building the foundation of the game as he felt that would give him the most creative freedom. Past that, FromSoftware would take inspiration from the world he had built and craft a story from there.
