During the ‘Memories of Ruin’ quest in Destiny 2 Witch Queen, players will have an objective that’s simply called ‘Puzzle: Rune Patterns.’ When you approach the large stone wall in the center of this area, you might have a message appear at the bottom of your screen titled ‘The Odd One,’ which explains you need to find the set of runes that stands out amongst the others.
It’s a bit of a vague clue, leaving you to figure out what makes sets of runes stand out from the others, but fortunately, we’re here to explain Destiny 2 Witch Queen’s The Odd One runes puzzle in the Memories of Ruin quest, so you can continue taking the fight to Savathun.
Solving The Odd One Runes Puzzle in Destiny 2 Witch Queen
On the large stone tablet in front of you, you’ll find eight columns of five rune symbols. To solve The Odd One puzzle, you simply have to shoot three of the columns that are different from the others.
In the example below, the column we’ve circled in green has a different rune three down from the top compared to the other columns, so we can shoot that one.
The red circled column has a different rune in its fourth row compared to the other columns, so we can shoot that one, too. Finally, the yellow circled column has a different rune in three of its rows (2, 3 and 4), so we can shoot that one.
You’ll know that you’ve got the correct column when a small flame-like glow appears directly above the column. Once you’ve shot all three odd columns, you’ll have completed The Odd One runes puzzle in Destiny 2 Witch Queen.
Please Note: The solution to this puzzle will be different for every player, so the columns we’ve highlighted above won’t necessarily be the same for you. The runes are different every time, but with the explanation we’ve outlined above, you should be able to figure it out.
