The Wolf Among Us 2

Telltale Games Promises That a New Update to The Wolf Among Us 2 is Coming “Soon”

With The Game Awards 2021 proceedings beginning to wind down, one surprising announcement made during the show was that Telltale Games was partnering with Life Is Strange: True Colors developer Deck Nine Games to create a brand new episodic title set in the sci-fi universe of Amazon Prime’s hit TV show, The Expanse. However, many fans of the studio were a little nonplussed by the lack of information pertaining to The Wolf Among Us 2.

Now, in an official statement on the company’s blog, Telltale Games has addressed the elephant in the room and taken the bull by the horns, promising that more intel regarding The Wolf Among Us 2 will be coming soon, specifically in a future issue of Game Informer.

Back in December of 2019, we revealed TWAU2 going into pre-production. The team is hard at work, but you may have noticed we did not have anything new to say about it for The Game Awards.

We know that you, our fans, have been incredibly patient and supportive. We also know that you’ve got a BUNCH of questions about what’s happening at Telltale (and in Fabletown) — we see them every day in social media.

Good news is that we will be able to answer some of your questions soon…

A Telltale update in GAME INFORMER

That’s why we’re going to be in issue 342 of Game Informer, which hits in just a couple weeks! We’re going to open up about our games, working in a new engine, and how Telltale is rebuilding a new studio.

First announced way back in 2017, the sophomore effort to 2014’s acclaimed episodic adventure game has had a pretty topsy turvy development cycle — and that’s putting it mildly.

In 2018, due to internal financial problems, a large portion of the development team were laid off, and the project was ostensibly put on ice indefinitely.

Of course, LCG Entertainment came onto the scene as an investor and helped revive Telltale shortly thereafter, before an official announcement was made at The Game Awards 2019 re-revealing the eagerly-anticipated sequel much to fans’ delight.

Long story short, while the second season of The Wolf Among Us continues to be somewhat shrouded in mystery, one thing certainly is for sure: Bigby Wolf and Snow White’s follow-up can’t come soon enough, right?
