The Fortnite week 12 challenges go live later today, and one of the legendary quests requires players to ‘Destroy Target Dummies with IO Weapons.’ This challenge is tricky for two reasons. First, obtaining an IO Weapon isn’t as simple as opening a chest, and second the Fortnite target dummy locations are few and far between across the map.
How to Destroy Target Dummies with IO Weapons in Fortnite
First things first, you’ll need to get an IO Weapon.
Getting an IO Weapon
The easiest way to do this, and the most convenient for this challenge, is to head to Defiant Dish, located just east of Weeping Woods.
Once here, look for any of the long IO crates dotted around the place. Open one of these up and grab the weapon that drops. Ideally, the Pulse Rifle is what you’ll want here, and we managed to get one from the first crate we opened.
Once you’ve got this, it’s time to seek out for the Fortnite target dummy locations, which are conveniently close by.
Fortnite Target Dummy Locations
Weeping Woods
Head west from Defiant Dish and make your way into Weeping Woods. You want to head to the south of this named location, to where all the RVs are parked up.
Here, you’ll find two target dummies set up just south of the RVs between two trees, shown in the screenshot below.
Camp Cod
If you need more target dummies, you can also head to Camp Cod in the very south of the map.
This may be a handy place to go, as it’s very much out of the way, so won’t be as busy as other Fortnite target dummy locations on the map. You’ll want to head to the east side of Camp Cod and look around the building to find the target dummies, shown in the screenshot below.
