The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD is finally here. It is one of the last holdouts from the Wii U era, and it is surely one of the last few games worth porting. It has only now made the jump many years into the Switch’s lifespan, though. But better late than never. In any event, now that it’s here, people naturally have questions. In this guide, we’re going to go over how to do a Skyward Strike in The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD.
How to do a Skyward Strike in The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword HD
Skyward Sword HD brings back the original version’s motion control along with bringing in a more traditional control scheme using the joy-cons. It’s up to you which way that you want to play.
To do a Skyward Strike with the motion controls start by tilting your right joy-con up. Give it a second or two to charge up (there will be an animation for this). When it’s fully charged, swing it in the direction that you want to strike. A beam will then be released in that direction.
With the regular controls, simply follow the same directions above but instead of tilting the whole joy-con up, tilt the right stick up.
You’ll want to use the Skyward Strike on goddess cubes and any triforce crests you find at the end of dungeons and among other places. This, of course, can also be used as an attack against enemies and bosses if you have the chance to pull it off.
Hold your sword directly upright in the air. Give it a second or two to charge (you will see it start to charge). When it is fully charged, swing it in the direction you want to strike. A beam will be released in that direction. Use this on goddess cubes and on the triforce crests you find at the end of dungeons, among other places. Can also be used as an attack against enemies and bosses.
