Whenever a small book icon appears in the bottom right corner of the screen, that means the auto-save function has kicked in, and you’ll be able to load your game from that point on.

You can also record your progress manually at any point in the story by pressing the + button to bring up the menu. From here, simply select the Save option, then choose the file you want to record your progress in. There are a total of 20 save slots available for you to choose from, not including the auto-save function, so make sure to save regularly or as often as you want.
