Mechs are known as Mektons in Biomutant, and they’re among the coolest vehicles in the game, used both for navigating hazardous areas and as weapons in combat. Indeed, not only can they jump, dash, and clear oil slicks but also mow down enemies with an auto-canon. Better still is the fact that you can actually customize your Mekton throughout the game.

You won’t have access to a Mekton until you bump into an NPC called Gizzmo. He’ll introduce you to the vehicle as part of the main quest over in the Dark Lands area of the map, which you should encounter a few hours into the game. You’ll actually get to control the Mekton straight away, but he’ll task you with finding and catching six creatures used a resource to get the auto-cannon back online, which he’ll explain is necessary for taking down the World Eater in the area.

How to Summon a Mekton

Just as you do with other mounts in the game, you can summon your Mekton by pressing down on the d-pad. However, you must be a Mekton Dockstation for this to work. These are marked on your map with a yellow dot once you have discovered them. Look around the edges of the Dark Lands to locate one.

Once you’ve found one, you’ll actually need to jump down onto the floor of the Dark Lands before summoning works.
