The depth of Biomutant’s customization options is one of the game’s best features. As you travel around the open-world, you’ll be able to modify your mutant’s appearance with all sorts of different apparel, which not only changes their look but also offers different buffs. Here’s how to change clothes and get more outfits in Biomutant.
How to Change Clothes & Get More Outfits in Biomutant
To change your clothing, go to the Gear menu from the main menu – which is accessed by pressing the Menu/ Options button – and then select the body part you want to change the equipment/ weapon for.
For example: If you want to change your headgear, then you’d need to select that part of your mutant’s body and cycle through the various options you have available. On the other hand, if you wanted to, say, change your body armor, then you’d need to select the torso.
To find more equipment, simply explore the environment, loot the bodies of fallen enemies, or buy them from vendors scattered around the sandbox.
Biomutant also features an outfit preset option, which basically allows you to create an outfit and then save it in a slot for later so that you don’t have to individually equip everything from scratch. This is useful for navigating hazardous areas that require you to wear a certain type of clothing. Cycle over to the Outfits menu using the bumper buttons.
It’s also worth noting that each clothing piece can be modified via the crafting menu, which not only buffs its stats but also changes its appearance too. Cycle over to the Craft page using the bumper buttons and then select a body part you’re interested in changing — you can then inspect and modify equipment if you have the parts handy. As always, getting crafting components is a case of exploring the world, defeating enemies, and/or purchasing them from vendors.
Do keep in mind, though, it’s not always advisable to change your character’s outfit based purely on style given that each item of apparel buffs or nerfs stats. Make sure you’re balancing their outfit according to what increases their stats as well as simply looks cool!
