Nier Replicant: How to Get Watermelon (Yonah’s Gift Quest)

As you’re making your way through Nier Replicant, you can take on all manner of different side missions for the various NPCs in the game. Nier Replican’s Yonah’s Gift quest tasks players with obtaining a Watermelon — among other crops — and handing it over. There are two ways players can do this, one which will cost a little more, and another that will cost less, but take a little more time to complete. Here’s how to get Watermelon in Nier Replicant.

Getting Watermelon for Nier Replicant Yonah’s Gift Quest

If you’ve got a bunch of Gold already that you don’t want to spend on other items, you can simply buy a Watermelon from the Grocery Store in Facade for 800 Gold.

Alternatively, you can buy a Watermelon Seed from the Item Shop in Facade for 80 Gold and then plant this in the cultivated land right outside your house.

This does require you to have completed the ‘Shopping List’ side quest which you get right at the start of the game. The quest tasks you with bringing her three Tulip Bulbs to unlock one plot of land to farm on, and three Bounty Fertilizers to unlock the second and third plots.

Then simply walk onto the plot of land, press Circle (B on Xbox), and choose the ‘Plant’ option. Choose the Watermelon Seed, then press Circle (B) again and choose the option to water the plant. You can also use Speed Fertilizer to speed up the time it takes to grow into a Watermelon.

Once you’ve got a Watermelon, return to Yonah and you’ll then be able to take on the next stage of the Yonah’s Gift quest, which will task you with obtaining a Pumpkin.
