Nier Replicant: How to Get Crystals

Nier Replicant serves as a predecessor to 2017’s Nier Automata, and as you might expect, both games feature similar resources and items that you’ll need for things like weapons upgrades and side quest completion. Some of these resources can be a bit trickier to find, so we’re here to help you out. Here’s how to get Crystals in Nier Replicant.

Getting Crystals in Nier Replicant

Crystals are a pretty rare and valuable resource in Nier Replicant, and they’re not particularly easy to get. They’re required for some weapon upgrades, but you’ll primarily need one for a side quest called The King’s Mask in the second half of the game.

This side quest rewards you with 10,000 G, making it worth doing especially if you’re looking to earn some money.

Crystals can be found in the Barren Temple just north of Facade as item pickups too, but if you’re looking to get them quickly, you can also purchase them in the second half of the game.

While in Facade, head over to the materials shop just next to the King’s Mansion, and you’ll be able to purchase Crystals for a 2,400 G. It’s expensive, but if you’re just looking to complete the side quest, you’ll be able to make that money back with the quest reward anyway.

If you’ve already got tons of money and just want to buy them in bulk for weapon upgrades, this is also a good time to do so. Farming them at the Barren Temple can get a bit time-consuming, as the item pickups aren’t guaranteed. That being said, farming is a good alternative for players who might be a bit short on money.
