The Bigger Game – Metal Gear Survive

Xbox Games with Gold Predictions

For the current month of January, Microsoft has offered four games for free on Games with Gold including Little Nightmares, Dead Rising, The King of Fighters XIII, and Breakdown. While the offical list for the upcoming month of February 2021 has yet to be released, we have some Xbox Games with Gold predictions in the meantime to tide us over.

Usually a larger AAA title headlines the list, and for next month we suspect Metal Gear Survive would be a perfect choice.

Metal Gear Survive didn’t sell the best when it first released back in 2018, with 2013’s Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance reporting selling twice the rate when it first released. Survive also was placed only 65th in the player count data on Steam in the first few months that it came out.

It therefore seems likely for Konami to opt for offering it on Games with Gold. Other Metal Gear games have also been offered for free on Games with Gold in the past as well, including:

  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (Xbox One) in August 2015
  • Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (Xbox 360) in October 2015
  • Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain in May 2018
  • Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance in March 2019

When a previous or follow-up game in a series is included on Games with Gold, it’s usually a pretty good indicator that another entry in the same series has at least been discussed as a potential pick as a free game in the future.
