If you’re looking to grind out some of the challenges in Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War’s Zombies mode, then you’ll need to get yourself some Elite Eliminations. The problem is, the game doesn’t make it clear exactly what an Elite Elimination is, which can be a real stumbling block in that Dark Aether grind. In this guide, we’ll explain everything you need to know about Elite Kills & Eliminations in Cold War Zombies.
How to Get Elite Kills in Cold War Zombies
Elite Kills are rewarded for killing an ‘elite’ enemy. Elite enemies are any that you see with a skull next to their health bar, also known as Megatons in the Die Maschine mode. They look like this:
Megatons are pretty easy to spot, considering they’re about twice the size of a normal zombie you’ll encounter in the game mode. These also split into the Megaton Bomber and the Megaton Blaster, one of each.
Alternatively, players are also reporting that Elite Eliminations can be obtained within the ‘Onslaught’ mode. All this requires you to do is take down the ‘elite’ enemy or boss over and over and you can rack these up quickly.
Elite Kills Not Registering?
Some players are reporting that their Elite Eliminations aren’t registering when taking down Megatons in zombies.
Some players are suggesting that you need to deal 100% of the damage to the enemy with the weapon you’re trying to get the Elite Elimination for. Other players are claiming that only Elite Eliminations within the Onslaught mode are working.
Neither of these actually appear to be real problems. Instead, it appears as though the challenge tracking is a little bit bugged right now, so they’re not always counting. As soon as we’ve got any more information to share on the issue, we’ll update this post and let you know.
